A dental implant is a small titanium fixture that is positioned within the jawbone, where it fuses with the surrounding bone over time to create a stable, long-term foundation. A custom-made crown is then secured on top to restore the visible part of the tooth.

The implant fixture is positioned within the jawbone under local anaesthetic. Sedation is available for patients who are anxious. The site is then left undisturbed while the implant bonds with the surrounding bone over the coming months.

Bone integration typically takes between three and six months. A temporary restoration can be provided during this time where needed.

Once integration is confirmed, a small connecting piece is secured to the implant to prepare it for the final crown.
